Condemn the German state for acts of oppression against the MLPD
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) joins the international proletariat in condemning the German intelligence service for its acts of repression against the Marxistisch-Leninistische Partei Deutschlands (MLPD). The CPP condemns the campaign of the German state, specifically its so-called Office for the Protection of the Constitution, to persecute and slander the MLPD, and spy on, harass and hunt down the leadership of the MLPD.
It was revealed recently that MLPD chairwoman Gabi Fechtner, was searched throughout Europe by the Federal Criminal Police Office BKA. Last year, Chairwoman Fechtner, together with Stefan Engel, head of the MLPD’s Revolutionärer Weg (Revolutionary Way) theoretical organ, and Monika Gärtner-Engel, responsible person for MLPD internationalism, were reported to be searched for by undercover German agents. For at least half a year starting on December 3, 2019, the three were placed on the wanted list in the entire Schengen Area (which includes 26 European countries).
The MLPD is vigorously fighting back to defeat the campaign of vilification, surveillance and persecution against them by the German state. The MLPD, considered an authorized and constitutionally protected democratic party, is vigorously defending their legal rights. Last year, it won a case in the administrative court declaring illegal the German state’s treatment of Stefan Engel as a “dangerous person.”
The search is being conducted by all kinds of state services, police, border guards and others, bringing back the fascist combining of secret services and police apparatuses. The persecution of the MLPD is also a throwback to Hitler’s witch-hunt and suppression of communists which accompanied his rise as a fascist madman.
The so-called Office for the Protection of the Constitution, justify the issuance of a search alert against the MLPD leaders for allegedly networking with “terrorist organizations” because of their support for the Kurdish and Turkish people and revolutionary forces in their just resistance against the Erdogan fascist regime in Turkey. The MLPD has also long supported the Filipino people’s struggle against fascist oppression and for national and social liberation.
The heightening acts of suppression against the MLPD by the reactionary monopoly bourgeois state is proof that it is effectively doing its work in fighting German imperialism and advancing the communist cause for the German and international proletariat and all the oppressed and exploited peoples.
The CPP extends its solidarity to the MLPD and its officers and members as they resist the increasingly fascist acts of oppression against them. The Party is inspired by the MLPD’s militance and determination and calls on all progressive and revolutionary parties and organizations in the Philippines and around the world to come to the MLPD’s defense.
