Katulad ng isinaad sa resolusyon ng Ika-2 Kongreso ng Partido at mga pahayag ng Komite Sentral, panata ng buong Partido na panatilihing buhay ang alaala ni Kasamang Jose Maria Sison at gamitin ang iniwan niyang pamana ng Marxista-Leninista-Maoistang mga turo bilang gabay sa pagsusulong ng demokratikong rebolusyong bayan.
Gamitin natin ang kanyang mga akda para dalhin ang rebolusyonaryong kilusan sa landas ng malaking pagsulong kapwa sa kalunsuran at kanayunan. Gamitin natin ang mga ito bilang matatalas na sandata upang tukuyin at iwaksi ang ating mga naging kahinaan at pagkakamali.

Upisyal nang inianunsyo nitong Marso ang paghina ng El Niño sa bansa at sa buong mundo. Gayunman, hindi ito nangangahulugan ng pagkasalba ng masang magsasaka at mamamayang Pilipino sa tuluy-tuloy pang salanta at pahirap na dulot ng tagtuyot. Sa katunayan, inaasahang tatagal pa hanggang Mayo o Hunyo ang pananalasa nito sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.
Sa harap nito, usad-pagong at halos walang makabuluhang tugon sa karaingan ng mga magsasaka ang rehimeng US-Marcos. Noong Enero lamang binuo ng kanyang gubyerno ang tinagurian nitong “komprehensibong” plano para harapin ang salanta ng kalamidad. Huling-huli na nga, iniluklok pa bilang hepe ng “Task Force El Niño” si Department of National Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro.

Sa nagdaang taon naitala ng Ang Bayan ang 127,386 biktima ng mga paglabag sa karapatang-tao ng rehimeng US-Marcos. Naitala ng AB ang umaabot sa 957 kaso (o higit dalawang kaso kada araw) ng mga paglabag sa karapatang-tao sa buong bansa.
Sa abereyds, mayroong pitong biktima ng pampulitikang pamamaslang kada buwan. Mayroong isang biktima ng pagdukot kada linggo at dalawa ang biktima ng torytur kada dalawang linggo.

Paglaban sa Batas Militar sa mga Pahina ng Ang Bayan (Resistance to Martial Law in the Pages of Ang Bayan) is a 400-page anthology of key editorials and news articles published in Ang Bayan from September 1972 to February 1986, during the period of martial law rule under dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
The book is foreworded by Prof. Jose Ma. Sison, the founding chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines, who also served as editor-in-chief of Ang Bayan from 1969 to 1976.
